Custom Windows

E.M. Rose brought a custom window manufacturer to the project that was able to duplicate the historic details of the main house windows at a cost similar to production window manufacturers that wouldn't customize their windows at all.

Beautifully Designed Homes

E.M. Rose doesn't build "big homes" or "small homes," we build beautifully designed homes. At 1200 SF this home proves that in good design less space doesn't mean less home. The architect's details make this home special particularly because of its diminutive size.

Mechanical Closet

E.M Rose specified and organized all the mechanicals to fit into a 32 SF mechanical closet. Well equipment, HWH, boiler, security, electrical and generator panel all organized to make things straight forward and easy to use for our client.

Architect: David D. Harlan

Colonial Farm Cottage

New Canaan, CT

This 1200 SF cottage began as an existing nondescript cottage built in the 1940's. By carefully "deconstructing" the cottage as opposed to summarily demolishing it, we helped our client avoid having to get a demolition permit and subjecting the property to historic review. This demolition only took a few men a couple of days as compared to a machine only taking a few hours, but this approach helped our client achieve their goals.

While the architect, David Harlan, designed a perfect revolutionary period farmhouse in a "cottage-sized" package, our responsibility was to design and specify the mechanical systems to fit into a mechanical room less than 40 SF on the first floor.
